Days 89 and 90 14th and 15th May 2017

Photos of Our Time in Glastonbury

After many suggestions of where to meet, and far too long in the planning, we finally managed to settle on 2 days in Glastonbury. Holly came from London and I from Cheddar. The two days was a Mothers day  gift from my children which made it all the more special.

Holly’s bus was about 2 hours late so I had checked into our AirBnB, had dinner and waited at the bus stop entertained by local young homeless men while the rain began to fall. As it got heavier of course the bus arrived, so a short cab ride to our home made it drier and easier.

Our AirBnB was delightful, a room at Honeybee and B Mathoura our host was a wealth of information and lovely to have a chat with. He coined the phrase which is the title here – wryly referring to the downtown area. Our breakfast was laid out each morning and the beds were very comfortable. Our room light and airy.

My main purpose for the two days was just to have time with my beautiful daughter. Holly was also keen to see some of the feminine energy of the town. It was a wonderful couple of days visiting.

The GlastonburyTor – a rambling chatty walk to the top and a spectacular view over the surrounding towns and land.

Glastonbury Abbey – with its long history and its possible links to King Arthur. We spent a morning here walking, sitting, contemplating, talking.

Esoteric Library – its byline being “Probably the only publicly-accessible esoteric library in Europe” a small but wonderful library one could spend days in.

And we walked in and around town, visited the many Charity shops where Holly managed to find some beautiful clothes while I luckily did not.

We ate at

100 Monkeys – often

Rainbows End – a busy and delicious vegetarian spot
