Day 49 Vancouver – The Canadian Friday 5th June 2015

What a perfect last day in Vancouver.

Delicious Granola at home, while Chris went off to get himself a final ‘Brakefast’ an Egg, tomato and lettuce muffin from the Tandem Bike Cafe!  Along with Cinnamon twists to share – Emily’s favourite.

Began with a walk through Lynn Canyon with Ann, Emily and “cow dog” Jessie.

A challenge for forest beauty to its bigger sister Capilano Bridge. Lynn Canyon was for us less busy but no less beautiful. With a bridge suspended high across the river and waterfall.   Even trusty Jessie “cow dog” balked at the crossing.

The forest walk was moss and fern filled down to a clear green pool surrounded by large rocks.

Usually a quiet peaceful spot. At the time we were there it was filled with high school students having fun in the early summer sun.

After a quick trip home to pack, rest and send final emails we headed into Yaletown to the restaurant Emily is now working at Provence.

Provence Restaurant VancouverA real treat for our final meal; and before our reluctant parting.

Tapas style food with a huge selection of wines literally ‘on tap’ and therefore available by the glass.

Had a memorable glass of Upper Bench 2013 Chardonnay from Okanagan BC – beautiful.

Unanimous favourite tapas was a surprise – Quinoa cakes – pedestrian sounding but not in the taste. Light crisp flavourful cakes and light mayo style dressing.

This time we got to the right Train station and headed for our next adventure – The Canadian, VIA rail across Canada.

Very sad leaving Vancouver.

Difficult to say goodbye to Ann but we feel we will catch up again.
