Days 58-60    8-11 June

To answer the question,Burbage is a small village in Wiltshire near Marlborough. It’s most important characteristic  however, is that it is the home of our friends the Hilliers .I  boarded with Martin and Linda years ago and we visited last year with them and their delightful children Matthew and Charlotte. We were delighted to be able to exploit their hospitality yet again!!!

Martin is the world’s best tour guide and he had planned for us to go to Bristol where we ambled around the university precinct and the waterfront.

Bristol claims Banksy as one of their own even though he has never been definitively identified. The best evidence however is that this is where his art first appeared. So of course one of our first stops was you guessed it!- a Banksy work.

We then walked around the waterfront crossed from one side of the river to the other on a 2 minute ferry ride, had a bacon butty prowled around the free Bristol Museum and headed for home.

We then headed home and had the great-Where do we travel to next” Lottery draw.We and the Hilliers had decided we would like to meet up somewhere in Europe but couldn’t work out where.Linda had the brilliant idea of everyone having a vote and pulling the result out of a hat.So to a roll of drums everybody voted and the winner!!! was Warsaw.

So that’s where we are meeting up at the end of August-what fun!

After another couple of rest days we headed out destined for Leeds to see Miriam and Nick.
